    Whether you use chicken or turkey in this simple stew recipe, the results are always rewarding. Surprisingly simple to make and designed to save you time, it combines all the goodness of meat and veggies in one hearty pot without any of the expected effort. It’s perfect for a wholesome winter’s eve dish and the curry aromas will have you feeling satisfied with every bite. Serves: 4 - 6

  • Ingredients:

    1,5 kg Turkey or chicken meat, cooked
    10 ml Sunflower oil
    1 Onion, sliced
    2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
    1 can (410 g) KOO Mild & Spicy Chakalaka
    1 can (410 g) All Gold Chopped Peeled Tomatoes

    500 ml Hot water
    1 Sachet KOO Concentrated Chicken Wet Stock
    15 ml All Gold Superfine Apricot Jam
    5 ml Freshly ground black pepper
    3 ml Salt

    1 can (410 g) KOO Mixed Vegetables, drained
    1 can (410 g) KOO Cross Cut Green Beans
    10 g Coriander, roughly chopped for serving

  • Method:

    1. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Fry the onion and garlic until soft. Reduce the heat and add the KOO Mild & Spicy Chakalaka, All Gold Chopped Peeled Tomatoes, water, KOO Concentrated Chicken Wet Stock and All Gold Superfine Apricot Jam. Simmer on a gentle heat until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
    2. Add the cooked turkey meat, KOO Mixed Vegetables and KOO Green Beans into the curry sauce. Allow to simmer gently until heated through.
    3. Serve hot, garnish with chopped coriander.

    Variations, hints and tips
    • Instead of using the KOO Mild & Spicy Chakalaka, try KOO Hot & Spicy Chakalaka.
    • Use chicken as an alternative to turkey.
    • Make this curry the day before - the flavours will develop and it will save you time. On the day, just heat through on the stove top,
      on a low heat.
