Oats and
Spiced Peaches

    Packed with fiber and cholestrol-lowering properties, oats is fantastic ingredient for filling and healthy breakfast recipes. Here, the addition of cinnamon, walnuts and peaches make this everyday meal a real treat. Crammed full of flavour and the necessary energy to kick-start your day, it will soon become your breakfast of choice. Serves: 4

  • Ingredients:

    A pinch of salt
    2 cans (410 g) Rhodes Peach Slices in Syrup, drained but with syrup reserved

    500 ml (2 cups) oats
    2,5 ml (½ tsp.) ground cinnamon
    125 ml (½ cup) walnuts, chopped

    750 ml water
    Honey, to taste
    Milk (optional)

  • Method:

    1. In a large saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil. Add the oats and boil until thickened, stirring constantly.
    2. Add the reserved Rhodes peach syrup to the oats and simmer for a few more minutes.
    3. Remove from the heat and spoon into serving bowls.
    4. Top with Rhodes Peach Slices, a sprinkle of cinnamon, nuts and a drizzle of honey.
       
      Tips and variations
      • Serve with milk if desired.
