Pear and
Blue Cheese Board
  • Description:

The beauty of a cheese board is that you can serve it as an appetiser or an after-dinner course. This recipe is a good example of how simple it can be to put one together. Just grab these ingredients, arrange them on a board, serve and enjoy. Otherwise, why not make a pear and blue cheese salad? Simply chop the nuts, cheese and pears, then toss them lightly with salad leaves along with the dressing. Serves: 4 as a starter, or 6 as a side dish

  • Ingredients:

    4 handfuls watercress
    Handful rocket
160 ml (⅔ cup) toasted walnuts
825 g Rhodes Pear Halves in Syrup, drained

    125 g (1 wedge) mild blue cheese
15 ml (1 tbsp.) cider vinegar
10 ml (2 tsp.) Dijon mustard
    1 ml (¼ tsp.) salt

45 ml (3 tbsp.) olive oil
Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste

  • Method:

    1. Arrange the Rhodes Pear Halves on a board, together with the watercress and rocket, toasted walnuts and creamy blue cheese.
    2. Make a dressing with the olive oil, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper.
    3. Pour into a bowl and place on the board.
